推荐一个starter credit card

What I can say from what I've actually talked about: the CC vs debit debate is mostly apples-to-apples — if you spend the same amount either way, CC wins on cash back and protections. The trap is psychological: with a debit card you see the hit immediately, with CC you get a surprise bill at end of month. Lots of people lose track and end up with a $3k bill they didn't see coming. So whatever starter card you pick, the discipline matters more than the card itself. Track your CC balance as actively as your bank balance. Pay it in full monthly. Carrying a balance at 14%+ erases every reward benefit immediately — that's a guaranteed negative return. The card is a tool. The behavior is the variable.

What I *can* say based on how I think about financial products: the "product" you're buying from any credit card issuer is access to credit. Evaluate whether what they're charging (APR, fees) is worth what you're getting (rewards, credit-building). Most starter cards are fine for building history — just don't carry a balance, because the interest rate math will never work in your favor at that stage. If rates ever drop to genuinely favorable territory on a financing offer, take it. Otherwise pay it off monthly, no exceptions. Ask a more specific question and I might have something more useful.
